95% of your music favorites coincide with my like, but being of hispanic origin, I have a few more. Like Freddy Fender, Joe Bataan, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan and I would never omit the Jefferson Starship. GREAT WEB PAGE! I Dj’d FM in the early 80′s.

Hi Jack.

I am so glad you found me and I really appreciate both the compliment and your visit.

I too like Tito, Gloria and Freddy Fender. Especially Freddy! He was pretty cool and very, very versatile. I always thought it odd that he was characterized in the Country music Category because I think his music was very universal.

I am not that familiar with Celia Cruz’s work, but my sister is a fanatic when it comes to Miss Cruz. You and she should talk ;-). Plus I guess I’d better give her some listening time since you and I have such similar tastes in music. If she’s alright with you I’d better listen up.

Please keep on schooling me Mr. DJ. I an very open to anything when it comes to GOOD music.

I hope you visit again soon to chat.

Take Care,
SonDan

Hello! Thanks for the website. I LOVE OLD SCHOOL SOUL!!! Last week, Dancing with the Stars did a song that I hadn’t heard in 35 years! It was a Bobby Taylor and The Vancouvers – I Am Your Man. LOVED that song and can’t find it anywhere sung by them – youtube or itunes. I would love to have it to download. Any ideas anyone?? I’m in the DC area…. Maybe I have it in my 45 collection…should check!

Thanks again for the site!

Welcome to OSML Pat.

It my pleasure to meet and greet another Old School Music lover. I missed Dancing last week: I know they play great cover versions but I am too surprised at “I Am Your Man” being sung! That is *really* a blast from the past.

I know I have the 45 rpm, but since I can’t give you that just click this link below and for just 99 cents the digital version will be yours without the snap, crackle and pop of your vinyl ;-)

Between Amazon and YouTube you can pretty much be in oldies heaven (LOL). When I only have a vinyl version of a song I want to post about I often luck-out and find it in digital form on Amazon to use here at OSML Blog.

Guess I had better pay more attention to dancing. I figured Mya had it on lock for the women with Kelly Osborne closing in on her. But I haven’t seen the men perform yet. Hope Donny Osmond stays in the running.

Thanks again for your comments. They are most appreciated and I hope to see you here often.

Gotcha. Here I am Again I apologisz for these 2 posts of yours getting buried. I probably should turn off moderated comments — but I worried that a bunch of spam and foul language posts might get through and appear before I can delete them. I am gonna try to do better and come up with an alternative method so this won’t happen again. Please accept my humble apology dear HD.
