#1 R&B, #2 Pop

Did you know that 55 years ago today (11/18/2011) Antoine Dominique Domino sang his hit “Blueberry Hill on the Ed Sullivan TV show?

Did you know that  “Blueberry Hill” was #1 on the R&B charts for 11 weeks?!

Did you know that “Blueberry Hill” sold more than 5 million copies worldwide in 1956–57?!

“Blueberry Hill”, written by  Al Lewis and Larry Stock, was recorded by many artists in the Forties when it was written — but the definitive and best known worldwide version was recorded by the “Fat Man” — Mr. Fats Domino!

This is another of those 78rpm discs of my Mother’s that I played endlessly! Like I said earlier, Fats was one of Mom’s faves and became one of  my too!

Is he one of yours now?
