The record producer, Johnny Vincent, decided to have another New Orlean’s singer, one Francis Guzzo AKA Frankie Ford record his vocals over the Huey Smith track and release it. It zoomed up the charts and was Ford’s one hit wonder claim to fame!

Here’s Frankie Ford lip synching to his hit in a vintage video clip found on that treasure trove we call YouTube! Enjoy.

“Sea Cruise” has been covered numerous times by numerous artists in every decade  since Smith composed it in 1959. This is an song that will truly go on and on forever — guranteed! ;-)
