Superstar Michael Jackson, as you well know, began his music career with his brothers in the family boy band “The Jackson 5.”

While signed to Motown Records, and still performing with the group, Michael recorded massive solo material and four solo albums were released between 1972 and 1975.

As was the way at Motown, much much more material was recorded than was released on those four  MJ solo releases.

Once the brothers (minus Jermaine) left Motown for Epic Records,  Motown wanted to capitalize on the brothers continued success and released some of the vault material of both Michael individually and the group over the years is assorted compilations and anthologies.

“Farewell My Summer Love,” composed by Keni St. Lewis,  was one of those vault songs and it is provided here for your listening pleasure in keeping with our “Summertime”  posting theme here at OSML during July and August 2011.

Musically Yours,
