“All The Way” Performed By Frank Sinatra (1957)

March 14, 2011

“The Voice” had a#2 Pop hit in 1958  with the song “All The Way” from the movie released in October 1957 — “The Joker Is Wild.”

“All The Way” won the 1957  Oscar for Best Original Song. The award went to the composers James Van Heusen (music) and Sammy Cahn (lyrics).

The film, exemplified in the trailer below,  told the story of real life singer turned comedian Joe E. Lewis played by Frank Sinatra.  Jeanne Crain, Mitzi Gaynor  and Eddie Albert co-starred in this film that I vividly recall seeing many times in the Sixties on late night TV on weekends.  I never missed a Sinatra flick on TV due to my crush on “The Voice.”

Have you seen “The Joker Is Wild”? Check out this vintage trailer below. It’s a great dramedy you are sure to enjoy.

Check out the “real” Joe E. Lewis in a vintage (10/12/58) appearance on the TV show “What’s My Line” while it lasts on YouTube.

Musically Yours,
