This funky instrumental blues version of the holiday classic “Auld Lang Syne” appeared on B.B. King‘s first Christmas album entitled “A Christmas Celebration of Hope“.  Released in 2001,  King dedicated the holiday set –

“to The City of Hope in support of their hard work to being hope and healing to all people who suffer from life threatening diseases everywhere.” ~ B.B. King

This set topped the Blues Album Charts at #1 in 2001  and zoomed up the same chart again to #5 in 2003 when the CD was re-released as “The Christmas Collection” in the “20th Century Masters”  Series where I first heard it.  It has since become an annual favorite for me at holiday time.

If you have never heard this version, arranged by King himself, then you are in for a true treat.

Enjoy  the music and Happy New Year.
Musically Yours,
