Happy Birthday Eddie Kendricks!

December 18, 2010

December 17, 2010  would have been the 71st birthday of the great tenor Eddie Kendricks.  I have been working on a tribute page for Eddie for quite some time, that keeps growing in size, so I have split it into three parts.

Part one of three has been published today on Eddie’s work with The Temptin’ Temptations!

I hope you enjoy both the audio and visual presentation when you click on the page in the menu bar above. There is even the often overlooked Sweet Eddie’s solo lead on the Temptations’ “My Christmas Tree” from the Temptations first ever Holiday album,  in keeping with this month’s Holiday Music Theme!

Let me know what you think.

Musically Yours,

It was so pleasing to see someone whose passion for the best tenor of all times. I have been a fan of this man since I was a teenager and never heard a voice as beautiful with such unique blend and tone as the great one. I have been been paying a tribute to this man for over 4 decades and have a video on you tube. Check it out and give me a call 323-xxx-xxxx. Thanks.

Hi Norman,

It is *my* pleasure to meet YOU! Any fan of Eddie is a friend of mine. I loved Eddie in the Temptations and even boycotted the Tempts for a while after he left. I refused to buy another Tempts album ever again. :-) But when “A Song For You” was released while I was in college and being played at every BSU Dance … well I had to give in. It was a great album :-).

Now don’t get me started on his solo work! The man was just amazing.
That will be part two of my tribute so stay tuned to OSML. I appreciate your visit and enthusiasm for Mr. Kendricks.

I will mos def check out your video and get back in touch. Have a safe and prosperous New Year Norman.

PS. I removed your phone # from your post so it would not fall into the wrong hands.
