Even though this song is almost 50 years old it is new to me and a great way to pay tribute to the year of Motown50 in it’s final few holiday season weeks.
It is a simply marvelous LIVE, soulful rendition of “The Christmas Song” by Marvin Gaye that I discovered on YouTube! I notice that some of the holiday tunes that I posted about last year from YouTube are now gone so please click on the link and enjoy this song while you can.
I really don’t have much more to say other than this is a great addition to my Motown holiday music collection and this is why I love YouTube.
Thank you bigchunkz for sharing this.

In the early 60’s Marvin wanted to be more like Nat Cole and Sam Cooke. While that was an admirable thing to strive for, I’m so glad he found “Marvin Gaye” instead. Just think how much poorer the world would be without his music.
Happy Holidays
Very well said CT. I too am glad Marvin eventually came into his own to give us musical creations that will be enjoyed for generations too come! Thank you so much for your patronage and input here at OSML and thank you for the Holiday greetings.
I am sending you and yours my wishes for a Happy Holiday as well.
Is this the same Old School Music site that went down for a moment and is now back up. It lok like it has sbeen a little updated but and I want to know if I am at home again with the REAL OSM site??? If so, thank you for all you do and I am a follower of your site forever. Keep up the great work.
Hi Jennifer,
Yes it’s me. Happy New year to you and welcome back to OSML. Yes, the blog has gone through some changes. I moved the blog from WordPress.Com to it’s own domain and had plenty of unexpected issues along the way. Not to mention right before the move, BOTH of the locations I stored my music were hacked and I lost all of the songs!
But I am now back on my own dedicated server and ready to get back down to business for the coming year! Thank you for your support . I am honored
to have made your life a little brighter in some small way.
